Budgeting 101: Our Controllership Program
Credit Planning is the currently popular name for that age-old process, budgeting.
A budget is a plan for using your financial resources, and a projection for your future money. It is not a record of what was spent last year. Very often the word "budget" is used to imply thrift, scrimping or reduced quality. The word budget does not imply deprivation; it means "to plan".
The timeline for your budget is entirely personal. By design, we plan our program over a period of one year. During this span, expense and income items usually will have occurred at least once.
